Feedback (comment/underline) section to be improved
For @VictoriaDemierbe, it is not easy to check if the learner has spotted her remarks/underlining. She has flagged some things that Tyler didn't change - the conversation kept going (that is great), but some elements that could be useful to discuss were dropped. Tyler was not able to react to the comments to show that he had made note of them. (And again, preserving the old text with strikethrough when correcting a flagged error is useful for recalling what the mistake was.)
It would then be useful to get a specific notification when something has been flagged or commented on, so we know to look at it. (Especially if we have sent other messages in the meantime, we'd have to scroll up to see the flag/comment, which we wouldn't do if we don't know we need to.)
- Tyler notices that there is a white sidebar to the right of the chat field, but nothing is displayed in it. Perhaps this space could be a 'notepad' shared between the tutor and student for meta discussion? When something is flagged or commented on, it could show up in this sidebar. This then creates a separate chat thread for correcting, discussing corrections, asking, explaining, etc., without interrupting the flow of the conversation in the main thread.
